• Severe decay — when a tooth is too damaged to repair with a filling, crown or root canal
• A broken tooth — cracked below the gumline and unable to be restored
• Advanced gum disease — when a tooth has become loose
• Infection — that can’t be treated any other way
• Crowding — to make room for orthodontic treatment
• Problem wisdom teeth — that are causing pain or affecting other teeth
